No scoring, but low compression, is that possible?

At the high end yes

I assume that the Husqvarna is better than the poulan?

at the lower cheaper end..can't say. Might still be, who knoweth. They charge a lot more for Huskies once you get above 40 cc or so and it says XP next to some number. Those are top of the line saws. At the very bottom cheapest end..meh. I'd bet there ain't a whole lotta difference if they are taken care of adequately, with any manufacturer.

The customer should get to keep his used/maybe broken/maybe not parts. He paid for 'em. Warranty is extra you pay for in advance as well, it is part of new saw purchase price they average out over all saw sales. Heck, they probably get a corporate deduction for it..don't know but possible.

No scoring low compression sounds suspicious. Like said above, just maybe a sticky ring. Coulda just PB blasted some down the sparkplug hole and let it sit for awhile, then turn it upside down and crank it around a little, then try some fresh good mix.. Or decomp valve stuck open with a hunka carbon up in there, or a leak elsewhere maybe.

No No No!
If the warranty claim sounds suspicious, the factory probably would like to see the replaced parts, to figure out what went wrong!
In the truck industri (Volvo Trucks) where I work, a lot of parts go back to the factory, to further inspection! Also because the Factory don´t want to pay for warranty repair, thats not needed!

As for the N scoring, low compression, I´ve got the same issue too! Bought a Husky 353G a week a ago, guy said it wouldn´t start!
And it has sitted for a while!
I suspected bad gas, or scoring (it´s got the plastic intake clamp).
When I pulled the rope, nearly no resistance, compared to my other 353! Pulled the muffler and plug, NO scoring! Tried to replace the de-comp still no luck!
Haven´t looked further into it, since I also have a 346 XP total apart by now!

That is why I don't buy poulan.LOL

I don't understand the Poulan bashing. This is a company that has built some great saws. I have a 30 year old 3400 that will start anytime and cut with a more modern 60cc saw.

Check this video out. Poulan Pro 330 early 2000ish.

Some folks just like to bash.

I also have a 3400 I bought used in 1988, it cranks and runs fine, never had a problem with it. Had a 245A before that, great saw! I believe the newer cheap Poulands give em a bad name, but they're cheap saws, for the occasional user.

Nice vid, that thing is rippin!!!

I sold that one. :( It is in very capable hands though. It now lives in the great state of KY.

keep me posted on what you find out, I am curious.

Keep us posted on what they find when they pull the cylinder. I would think stuck ring, have they pushed on the ring at the exhaust port to check for binding? Maybe there is damage in the intake side? What oil mix has been run in the saw?
