Are the pins that hold the sprocket into the nose of the bar, just pushed in and out? Can I just use a drift or punch, or is it ground out like the rivets in the chain?
 
Center punch them, drill them, then drive them out. The rivet is far softer than the bar, but you still need to pay some attention.
