16F right now feels like 4F with a NNW wind of 8 MPH now. Have a light skiff of snow on the ground noting major.
Heat from ther england 28-3500 sans fan feels good to these old bones.

Fire arm deer season is just 5 days away now and it is supposed to warm to the mid 40's with rain in the forcast for my SE Michigan area.

Time to get the Carhartt bibs out.
We are a bit warmer, at 20*, and a dusting of snow.
Trees are still heavy with leaves this morning, but the wind is starting to thin them. Usually pretty bare by the 15th.
Delivery late this morning, and another to load up for tomorrow morning when I get back.
Usually sold out by now.
About eight cords to go and last years wood will be gone, so... maybe another week or two.
Lots to split yet for next season but the conveyor is still down.
Surplus Center got the parts right out. Then waited on a welder, got impatient and took it to another guy.
That didn't work so good, because the wait just started over.
Then we went to Turkey Run State Park in Indiana for one last rv trailer camping. What a great place!
Never would have guessed it as I picture Indiana as flat farm land.
Then when cleaning the roof on the trailer found some cracks in the caulking around a roof vent that began rust the metal curb.
Finished winterizing and now hoping for a warm up in a day or three to pull the roof vent and replace it. The lap sealant is self leveling and needs to be warmer to get off completely and then to flow out when replacing. Been running back and forth to the RV dealer for this and that. First year having a trailer. Really enjoyed the break from firewood several times this summer.
The conveyor motor mount assembly is bench tested (next to the wood stove!) and needs dis-assembly to install. Getting closer to running...hopefully after loading the truck this afternoon, or tomorrow afternoon for sure. It is going to be harder to realign in place, but I can't install it as is, as much as I'd like to.
Still need to rethink the garage space to get everything in this year even without the TW-6 and DR chipper (that we sold this year). Kind of miss the TW-6. The trailer is too high or it would be in already.
Just spent some money on the driveway and squared up the wood lot the week before camping. Got a little more space to work with now that it is graveled to set a few more rows of pallets on.
Thinking of splitting in a pile with the conveyor for the winter and bundle on pallets in the spring. Extra handling for sure, but would help get a jump on things. Lots of beautiful winter days to work outside. Handling pallets in the winter I don't think is going to work very well all the way around. Cutting and splitting, no problem. The forklift starts well down to about 20-25*. Starts lower but sounds a bit harder on it, so what's the point.
Hard to guess what winter will bring this year. Either way, it's coming soon.

Yesterday -20°f with the wind in the morning and didnt warm up a whole lot. Same week last year 70°f for highs gotta love manitoba weather. Only positive is the ice is forming nice and i could be out fishing this weekend if I wanted.

I don't normally get the bibs out until well below zero. Outerwise it's just a hoodie and a coat.

It has been about 24 all day here with the wind howling. I've been out side most of the day, had to go look at a job, install a sash at another place then go to the dump with the dump trailer and finally changed the rearend fluid in my Ford 3000 as I've been having issues with the 3 point, I hope this fixes it. I can't stand to be bundled up, I usually wear an under armour long sleeve, a tee shirt then a sweatshirt and a hoodie, unless it's any colder than 20 I'm good as long as I'm moving.

Nice rocks and nice bridge! That's how head lice is spread ya know? LOL

Yep, a wee bit on the chilly side today. Another cool one tonite but then its supposed to warm up a little.

Good splitting weather, as long as the ground is either frozen or dry...

Made a few up grades on my deer blind I moved. added a shelf for my tea cup and crumpet plate, added a couple new braces as it had looseened up some in the move.

Then I took the tower for another blind to another location where ai wanted it. I just wear a T shirt and a insulated hooded sweat shirt.

Armour All doesn't have enough money to get me to wear there stuff. Sell millions of dollars of the stuff to unknowing sportsmen and women and are a anti gun company.

Any way took the Husky splitting axe to some well seasoned Ash rounds and boy oh boy do that ever split nice when frozen. Made them tinyer for wife to put in the furnace while I deer hunt, she is good about that.

Lovely brisk morning here. Around 30 deg and sunny. Really, I don't care what the temperature is, as long as it's sunny or snowing (and I'm bundled up properly). But this is southern ILL-a-noise. We usually get very little snow and lots of overcast, so I'll enjoy the fine day while it lasts.

But where does it say they're anti-gun?

I know they pulled the sponsorship of some chick who's husband killed a bear with a spear on camera , that's old news and has nothing to do with guns.

Head lice....yuck....
Very true!
And good to point it out.
She is actually holding the mask in front of her.
As an elementary school teacher, she is all too familiar with what you are saying. Most elementary schools, regardless of economic/social class deal with this issue every fall when school begins.
We also have three grown up kids, one of which got head lice from a cousin when she was young, (and then a second time when school began). The other girls mother noticed her daughter scratching and thought was a case of dry scalp and dandruff. The mom had never seen a case of head lice, so didn't really take a good look at her daughters scalp.
If you do have to deal with head lice and children, be sure to read the instructions on the treatment you use. Many of them are very, very strong, and should not be repeated often, or as often as a parent would like to get rid of the little buggers. Following treatment instructions closely is important for the child's safety.
Nit picking seemingly takes forever, but is very necessary as most treatments do not effect the nit stage, so nit picking needs repeated over and over to get them all.

Lets see under amour pulled the sponcer ship of a hunter and his wife. Why did they do that I ask?
Seems some anti hinters saw it ou you tube or some such place and made the demand of under amour to drop the sponcer ship.

So when Anti fire arm people put pressure on where do they jump? right on the anti gun band wagon.

Your welcome to buy and wear that crap but I am not going to when there are other companies with a spine that support hunters fisher man who buy colthing to stay warm while hunting and fishing.
