What are you all getting for white/yellow oak in Pa. and NY ? Does anyone know the name of the outfit in Elmira NY thats buying pretty heavy ?

Quater saw logs here in central ohio are around $.80 per BF. But I don't recomend that mill anymore. I had two logs that were scaled by my hauler and my self. Both logs were in the 800BF range. When they got to the mill one wen 800 even the other only went 475. I don't know what their problem is but they will not get another chip from me.

You got docked for too big of a log. Pretty common practice when a mill may have to split a log which results in loss of footage.

Don't know any dollar figures but I've heard oak has come up in price respectably as of late.

They have a 60" bandsaw. Log was only 49"

Here in SW Missouri it's only bringing a .25 to .28 cents. Walnut is up around 7.00, you see a ton of Walnut logs going up and down the highway.

60" bandwheels maybe.Band size don't mean squat anyway , it's the size of the carriage that matters. Still don't mean they can cut a 49" log without splitting it first ,yet alone get it past the debarker. Not many mills east of the Mississippi can handle a hog like that.
