I have an oak removal scheduled base is a little over 3' dbh, nice straight up to 25' or so, no limbs. I belive its a pin oak but not positive. Assuming its isnt hollow what would vineer $$ be.

if it is pin oak it won't be veneer. and techically very few trees will actually go for veneer (white oak, really good red oak, walnut).. but rather will become grade sawlogs, oak sawlogs usually come from white, northern red, cherrybark red, and black oaks-i know im forgetting one.

pin oak typically grows to fast, pulls alot of mineral up into the wood, stinks like piss when u cut it, and the would will often work and split as it dries....but if it does dry and the board are still good there is no way in h*ll u will be able to drive a nail in it.

therefore the tree might make one heck of a blocking sawlog i doubt it will go for grade

What are veneer and grade logs going for up your way? All species.

white oak .50-$4
red oak .40-$1
poplar .70 for a good one
ive seen walnut go for $6, and alot of it goes for $3-4
hard maple tops out around $1.50
good hickory is about $1
cherry is decent...not sure exactly because i haven't cut any that was of any account in a while

i think that pretty much covers it
