OK, everyone knows about the common brands like Stihl, Echo, Husky, Mac, Dolmar (& Dolmar combo names), Poulan, John Deere, Ryobi and Homelite saws.

Then there are the less common Jonsered, Sears/Crafsman (several generations, usually Echo or other saws re-labeled), Makita, Olympic, Pioneer, Tanaka, Remington, Shindaiwa, Skil, Solo, WoodZig, Dayton, etc.

Then there are antiques like Cobra, Comet, Titan, Clinton, Bradley, etc.

Then there are some other rare and really obscure saws. Can you name more that are not listed here? Photos?

Anybody remember this rare saw???

Iworked on a pair of Wright saws in Small engine school..

They had recipricating blades.

What monsters they were. 3 men to start one!

one to Hold it down with both arms. One to hold the Throttle, and one to pull the rope.

Obscure or rare saws

Bought a Green Machine last week. 32cc saw, all alum, light, well made. Trying to resurrect it. A little smaller than a super EZ. Need antivibe units for it. Any paper work. It was made by HMC of Long Beach, California. Tom

I've got a Porter-Cable chainsaw, 1958 vintage. Yes, that's the same Porter-Cable company that sells woodworking tools yet today.

Some of the tractor manufactures had their own line of saws like , Allis Chambers, Ford, made by other saw manufactures of course. Other names than come to mind Frontier, Lombard.

There was a Jo-bu recently on e-bay, made in Norway. It was tempting to try and snag it but I wouldn't do anything with the saw except run it a little cutting some wood and then put it on the look at me saw shelf and gather dust. I just let it go.

Already Mentioned

How about this Clinton. I kinda had it started recently. It would run on choke after doing NOTHING to it. We are saving the Tuneup for when we are REALLY bored.

Cool old beast in apparently excellent shape, even looks like its made for a lefty WOOT!!! Were all those made with the bar on the left? Just curious, ya ya I know I could go look it up, just lazy. :D

The Titan a few posts down is a beauty too! Runs? Almost a piece of 'art deco' lookin'-ish.

 gents keep the pics a-comin'!!!!!

antique or just old?

trouble finding owner for this make and model;

now unlisted "Terry Machinery Co. Ltd."

My eyes aren't the best, but I think the tag on the back of that dude said Homelite right across the top of it?

We all use the term "Dug up" but that one truly looks to have been dug up!
