Nothing drastic at all here in the corner of SW Mo, looks like from all the local channels any severe weather was west of Tulsa, it's snowing sideways and is supposed to through out the day into tommorrow, calling for 6-10 inches of snow, no big deal. there was only a skiff of sleet this morning and roads were clear. It would be a waste of money to send any crews here IMHO.

:agree2:
Same here in NE Ar,just snowing like crazy. As far as major ice storm don't think its happening.
Sounds like most of the damage was south of the okc line and west from there.

I am West of Tulsa and there is no damage here. I have had zero calls and I am well advertised here.

There is damage in the SW corner of the state but it is not very widespread. Be advised that the damage is mostly in rural areas and Oklahomans tend to be loyal to their community when it comes to hiring help.

Bushinspector heading out

Going to make a run of it since it is only about a 3 hour drive and see what happens. Just planning to take equipment trailer and skidsteer down. First ice storm we have chased. For the people that has done ice storms, what are some of the things that after you arrived that you wished you have brought. Equipment or otherwise?

It depends on the storms severity. On a few, a sleeping bag...

Spare chains and saw blades
extra rope
canned goods to eat
extra socks
spare boot to rotate and dry
more working capitol
extra groundie
small loader

Some storms require lots of climbers and a few groundies, others are the opposite.

I'm here in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Nothing much here just snow. Not a single call yet. Talked to a guy in Oklahoma city he said a little damage nothing much and then small areas. I'm free to travel and contract climb if anyone needs it. ISA certified arborist #SO-6263A, CPR/First aid, My own Ins. 479-841-3804. Thanks. Jeremy Williams

True everywhere, unless it's a bad hurricane with widespread damage.

Go doorknocking in the upper Northeast (NY, NJ, etc.....) after an icestorm with out of state plates, and the local treeguys will scalp your ass and throw you in a ditch.

There is plenty of work from this storm, you just have to know how to find it.
The damage runs from western Ok to the Carolinas. Damage isn't anywhere near last years storm but there is still plenty of $$ to be made.

check out Altus... those poor folks are without power. could be weeks before power is restored. every generator within miles are sold out

Duncan got nailed pretty good

Just go back from Marlow Ok (ten miles south of Duncan) after being there a week. At one time I counted over 17 different tree companys that was removing debris. I worked for the school and just done it per hour. Did not make great change but it was at least work. As I left yesterday the power was not up yet. Was expecting to get it up by bringing in several generators to run the town.
