If the wire and coil are like most saws you should be able to get a new plug wire, then unscrew the old wire from the coil screw the new one in, remove the plug cap and connector from the old one cut the new one to length reinstall the connector and cap and you are all set.

Not so sure on Eng. terms for this, so be forgiven when you read this.
I have sometimes "solded" on a new pace of wire, build up the Isolation with elektric tape, and put chrink plastic tube over and FIXED.

Coil fix

If you have enough wire, butt splice a short section together.Use Scotch 130c high voltage tape, and maybe a short section of shrink tube, over the splice.I have done it,and know it works,if you have enough wire left to get on.A coil for that saw ,is probably as rare as a sprocket for ole Blaster's 090g.You could do like about half the people on this site, and "cruise"E-Bay,it will show up,sooner or later.Good luck.Al

"and too short to put a new end on"

Guys, I think Brian has alluded to the fact that splicing the wire is not feasible?

Coil,more info

I just looked up the parts,in my Stihl books{2000 edition].It shows the coil wire,as being removable, but as you have said, this may not be so.The old part number was 1123-400-1300,for 021,023 and 025.The new part number is 0000-400-1306.

025 carb

My Stihl parts book also shows a Walbro wt series as being used on that model.I just last week rebuilt one for a friends 028 super.A complete kit was only about $7.[after market]
