A wealthy and attractive woman from California purchased a huge tract of
timber land in Oregon. There was a huge, tall tree on the highest point of
her property. She wanted to see all her land, so she began to climb the tree.
As she neared the top, she was suddenly attacked by an angry Spotted Owl. In
a panic to escape, the woman let go and slid down the trunk, getting many
splinters in her private parts.

In considerable pain, she hurried to the nearest doctor. He calmly listened
to her story and told her to go into the examining room and he would try to
help her. She went into the room, sat down with much discomfort, and waited
for three hours before the doctor reappeared.

Outraged, the lady demanded, "What took you so long?" The unperturbed doctor
replied, "Well, I had to get permits from the Environmental Protection
Agency, the Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management before I could
remove old-growth timber from a recreational area." >>
