I was wondering if someone could tell me if i might still be able to find a cylinder kit for an old Homelite XL-101. I know it's a long shot , but it has been such a great saw i hate to just trash it. I would appreciate any help you guys could give on finding parts for this saw. I also noticed that the bore size is the same for a XL-12 model. will those parts interchange?

Cylinder Kit:

fixit guy 75. I didn't look to see how old your saw is, but one question I have is why do you need a cylinger kit? Is it from normal wear and tear, did the saw sieze up, what? If you feel the saw is worth it and go to the expence of repairs, I would be doing a complete check over ot the saw, especially bearings, seals, the carb and related parts (filter, vents, hoses, installing a carb kit, etc.).
I would hate to see you just install a new upper end and have it burn up because of crankcase seals leaking or a lean carb problem. Just trying to give some advice, which you probably already know. Just my 2 cents worth, for now. Lewis.

Homelite XL-101:

Hi Mike. Didn't mean to sound to critical. Got your email and hope the parts sources I gave you work out for you. Let me know how you made out. Take care. Lewis.
