Gentlemen, I've been slabbing wood for the past hour!!
I took the carb off (again) now that I have the file from Grande Dog (dude, free beer next time you are in Tokyo!!!) and I checked everything out, the little rocker arm that controls the inflow valve was WAY out of where it was supposed to be, set it flush with the frame of the carb, like the instructions say, and I was back to sawing!! YEAH!! (when I cleaned the carb up, the outside of the diaphragm was full of sawdust)
(sorry, crap cellphone pics)
That is three 6 cm thick slabs of Sakura, they are HEAVY
Here is a close up of the grain....
I think this wood will make some nice stuff.
BTW, it was not as smokey in the Dungeon as the pic looks, the hatch was open and the exhaust fan was going, so it just looks really smokey.
Now for some more good news!!
We called a different Husky shop, this time I did not tell the guy the saw, I just told him the parts number I need, and I asked for a couple of spark plugs, and a spark plug wire from the saws that "HiOctane" mentioned on the other thread. The parts will be shipped to me, I'll have them by next week!!
The guy said the part number for the carb kit did not exist in his books, but he did find the same part number, but it starts with "503" not "501"...?
We both wondered if it was the same thing.
This guy was very helpful and suggested stuff like that part number. He also said that if the parts can be had from Husky HQ, he can also get them, so he is willing to work.
Boy does the saw start and run great now, need to tweak it a bit more but I'll do that outside somewhere.
So off to the wood lot tomorrow morning to start some more logs!!
Boy have you guys been a HUGE help, I'll keep you posted and take lots more pics!!
