Yes, that's me, an old lady. I've been interested in horticulture for abt a decade, especially native species of trees, shrubs, flora. I've gained the knowledge I have so far by reading and trial and error. Over the years I've planted A LOT, and also lost a lot. Live in Pittsburgh. Have a small home on a corner lot of abt 1/4 acre, maybe 1/3. Initially I killed off abt 80% of the lawn and replaced mostly with trees and shrubs...red maples, serviceberries, sugar maple, Eastern pines, dogwoods, cercis canadensis, myrica pennsylvanica, various juniperis, callicarpa dichotoma, lilacs, sourwoods (RIP), sweetbay, viburnum dentatum, forsythia, sambucus, cotoneaster, spirea, baptisia, phsyocarpus, Hinoki falsecypress, deutzia, potentilla. I know some are not natives to PA, but my foray into natives is only abt 5 yrs old. Always looking for new info. Thx
