Hello all, this will mark my first (and surely not my last post).

I have three saws, one new MS361, one 15 year old 028 AV, and one 20+ year old Skil 947. My question this morning is about finding parts for the Skil 947. The 947 is a small (2.0 cu.in.) saw that I use in the air, in tight spots, and for new saw users that work with me that either shouldn't be using or can't handle one of the bigger saws yet.

Recently, one of my younger brothers was using the saw and threw the chain. In doing so, the sprocket was shredded. I feel fairly certain (and this is augmented by another recent thread on this post) that the saw is a rebadged Poulan. Does anyone know where I might find a sprocket for such an old saw?

If not, I suppose that I will retire the Skil and buy a new light saw. To that end, any suggestions? The saw need not be a true arborist-type saw, but rather light and versatile.

Thanks,
Jon

Have you tried Robert Bosch Tool Corporation 1-800-301-8255?

The sprocket was probably toast before he threw the chain. In any case a Poulan micro 2000 sprocket will probably fit and is available for a few bucks from any competent dealer.
