Old Stihl 028 AV & WB brochure's

Here's an old Stihl 028 AV brochure my dad still had from roughly around 1982. I scanned it in and I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I did! If you like this one, I have another one for the 028 Wood Boss that I can post as well.

Excellent pics, Warped Mind! Welcome to the site. I'm still new here, but this is a very informative and entertaining place. Many thanks for posting the 028 brochure. I would love to see the other one you mentioned too as I'm sure many others would as well.

028 Wood Boss

Welcome to the site. I am the proud owner of a 1985 vintage 028wb. This saw has seen the most extremes that a saw has seen. From cutting ice off a roof top in NY to being submerged, yes under water and finallly dried off this saw has yet to dissapoint me. Although I suspect a carb kit is in the near future. It still has over 168 lbs of compression, starts in 3-5 pulls, 1 when warm. From what I have read this is one of the best models that Stihl has ever produced. The 85 year of my saw has the chain break, electronic ignition with a lifetime warranty, anti vibration. It is just a well built reliable piece of equipment. The only piece of equipment equal to this was my Vermont Casting wood stove. From scalding hot summer days in central NY to -25 below this saw has always started and performend flawlessly. It has been running on Amsoil at 40/1 .Never had a plug problem What more can a man ask for? I have just read an article about the 028 cylinder being coated with a treatment that will make the cylinder last a very long time. Ken

Saw Troll is right -- old brochures are favorites. I've spent a fortune on E-Bay buying old brochures on everything from saws to Toyota trucks to Browning and Ruger firearms.

Is there such a thing as "Old Brochure Addiction"?

Welcome WM! I'm not a big Stihl fan, but brochures like these are great to look at. I wish there was a section on here just for these kinda things. Thanks for the fun reading!
