I just got done refurbishing a stihl 046. Has the screw in caps not the flip tops. Gas leaking from cap seal no matter how tight. Vulcanized, I suspect it's original..lol
I searched over an hour so far looking for the gasket/flat rubber seal for these.
It would seem it would be a common thing since stihl is so huge a company.
I don't need a new cap, I need the 32 cent worth of rubber flat seal.
Thank you and hello Arboristsite forums. My 1st post.:)

You stihl dealer should stihl have them. Been a while since I replace any but I'm thinking it's an o-ring and not a flat washer. Those type of caps can also develop hairline cracks from being over tightened with a scrench. Buy stihl, not after market. Trust me. Welcome to AS.

thanks, no cracks and definately a flat rubber washer. I made one out of a rubber gasket sheet in the plumbing isle of big box store and it seals but its not as pretty as the one thats supposed to go there.
Stihl parts does not carry them.
