How about the pros and cons on older production vs. newer saws 026 in particular. Stihl supporters seem to hold this view. How about Husky owners as well? Are they just not making 'em like they used to or is that an oversimplificatin?

Far and away the new 026s are better than the older ones. Is this what you are looking for? LOL!
Actually the saws old and new are identical except for the plastic handle and shape of the plastic on the new ones and a non-adjustable carb on some of them. FWIW, I prefer the plastic handle but it`s not a big deal.
The 026 is a great saw, you should enjoy the one that you just bought.
