Olympyk 264 how is the pull rope tied?

I got a olympyk 264 that is driving me crazy. I love the saw but anyway how does the pull rope tie I have set this thing up every which way from Sunday and I cannot find away that will stay. I've tried several times. I've tried I've tried I'm out of options here

there is a round steel ring, that fits over the rope,,and you mash it on the rope with a hammer..that fits in the slot, then wind it around,,,,and no, I don't have any left...……..
