Need your advice Is this saw worth $278 plus shipping?
Seller had four saws on auction. This one plus three Jonsered. seller was bidding under different ID---UPing bid ---bids got more than most bidders wanted to pay for saws.NOW the HIGH bidder has backed out----so next high bidder is given a second chanse to buy saw CLICK ON BUY NOW

I had checked all four items and the high was the same person.Have played poker before knew it was time to stop bidding. He out foxed himself.

So much for that----Advice What would do---do not want let a good deal fall through???????????????

It'll be interesting to see if I get that same email, as I was 2nd high bidder on the 2063. How do you know that the high bidder backed out? He was the same winning bidder on the 2063 auction.

Links, sure we got links, the first item was won by the same high bidder in question. The next 3 are the saws in question and the others show that this high bidder usually comes in second. This guy has bid all these auctions(this month) and yet still has a "0" feedback. Jack's got this one, I smell some schilling. Most of this guys saws sell at top dollar, coincidence?

hey guys- Unfortunately that's an all too common practice among sellers on e-bay anymore. I personally won't ever go near a seller if I see evidence that they'll stoop to shill bidding to make money on their products. The chainsaw market on e-bay is going downhill fast because of guys like that.

You know, for the prices they are getting for saws on ebay and all the crap going on it’s really not worthwhile anymore. It’s too much of a gamble. Escrow should be part of any chainsaw deal paid by the seller. That would clean up their act.

So far I haven't had a bad ebay deal. I got one saw with That "starts and runs great" that had a torn intake boot but I doubt that the seller knew there was anything wrong with the way it ran. Of course I'm waiting on an Ebay saw now so I hope I haven't jinxed it.;)

THANKS to all of you for your help explaining and showing the different items that I was talking about. I do not know how to show items on computer. Thanks again for your support brining this to the surface:Monkey:

Not all ebayers are crooked. Lets see, due to ebay I have "met" Jacob J, Jeff Sikkema and Gypo Logger. I have gotten great deals on an 066, 088 and I got me a new supplier for chains and such.
Jack makes a good point though, let the buyer beware!

Sapwood made a good point regarding a few excellent businessmen trading on eBay and there are many others. Despite the bad experience I had with "Honest Juan", my experience has been far and away positive. Of course more scammers will exist as eBay is recognized as a potential means to scam people, but by being a smart bidder you can protect yourself in most cases, and if you don`t let a competitive nature get the best of you, you can find a deal now and then.

There is one thing you will want to watch over time on the 980 is, the deterioration of the rubber vibe mounts. When they start sagging, the throttle trigger will jump under the throttle linkage push rod and break off.

Changing the elements requires the special two pronged tool to unscrew them. The trigger is easy to replace. I just put mounts and trigger in a 981 last week (second time on same unit) There is a trick to getting the air intake boot back in place, if you run into this, e-mail me.

Models in the line, other than the 970/980. don't seem to show the same problem. It must be related the longer bars and logging application of the larger saws.

Hi Tony, I hear what you're sayin, when I lean on the forehandle, the revs increase, but no biggy, I will finesse it thru the cut from now on, till mods.
