Hope for a balanced approach.

I don’t keep up with the inevitable politics of forest management and know little about good forest management but from my perch a thousand miles away, it seems that out West, in particular, forest management is out of balance with the many competing interests.

Of course, I am biased with my belief that natural resources should be managed. That said, I have no problem with designated wilderness areas. Such are a good long term gauge of the effectiveness of our management and a resource for us to learn and improve.
