So I'm not quite skilled enough yet to splice my own rope, therefore I have the place I buy it from do it for me. I've always gone with one splice, I wanted to know if there were any advantages / perks to having a splice on both ends. On the other hand, are there any down sides to the 2 splices. Thanks for your comments.

Two spliced eyes comes in handy when your double crotched in big sprawled out canopies. I dont like a bunch of knots on my bridge while Im limb walking.

I think they advise only splicing one end at first on certain lines because of milking. Having both ends would be nice for switching ends so you get more life out of the rope. You would be more inclined to switch if you didn't have to tie knots in the other end

My personal preference would be one end splice, due to milking. I've been more and more SRT so a splice is not really needed when I climb, though I did splice my vortex just for the fun of it. My DdRT lines are 16 strand, spliced both ends.

IMHO no real benefit to the rope itself having two splices, but in some cases handy when work positioning and keeping the connections neater looking for a slightly faster inspection while working, but SRT has relieved the need for that.
