Im branching out on my own next season and I was wondering if I could please get anyones advice and experience on Insurance for a tree care business, before I go about getting quotes. How much can I expect to pay approx, and is there any loopholes on getting a low rate? also any experience on wsib. Happy Holidays everbody

My business is a small one- under 50K yearly. My premium is around a grand a year. I think I have about 15K in equipment coverage.

About $1400/year. 2.5 million in coverage, + errors & omissions coverage. Also covered is around $30,000 in equipment. (Vehicle is seperate). Gross business less than $100,000.

Having any certificates (courses & such) or prior experience are a way of having a reduction in premiums.

I think that is about right, I used to have more but dropped mine down to 2.5mil.

This can impact rates, I have a couple of buildings and just over $90,000 in equipment. Don't forget your trailers, etc.. although they fall under vehicle policy.

Agreed.

My agent advised me to look at a policy which is all inclusive, covers building, equipment, liability, computers, etc.. etc..

He said that there are some very good policies out there like this, and that they will provide the best coverage for the dollar if you can find one to fit your business.

He put me in one for mine, and seems to work well.

Also saving me a bit of money. Don't want to mention any companies on here, but look around there are some reasonable ones (not inexpensive--but what I think are still reasonable)
