Is An 026 Too Small To Mess W/ Pipes? I Love My Saw, But After Watching Some Vids On This Site, I Need More...story Of A Lifetime. How Do The Pipes Help If The Restriction Is Still Tight Where The Exhaust Leaves The Saw? I Know They Help, But How? Learn Me Something Before I Go Make My Own Pipes...i'm Thinkin' Dual...

Exhaust restriction is an issue for modern, quiet, saws. Yeah you can gain from reducing it, reduce it too much though and you will lose power. Two strokes don't mind a little back pressure. A pipe makes power by forcing unburnt mixture that has left the engine back into it via sound waves/pressure waves. It's basically a supercharger for a two stroke.

my 026 picks up a good 25-30% on the pipe, crofters even more. A pipe on a stock saw makes gains, but other restictions in the system hamper the gains.
