I've done some searching and reading here already, but haven't found much on the calf-wrap chainsaw chaps with zippers instead of buckles. I have a set of apron-style chaps but all the buckles and straps are frustrating to use, and sometimes get tangled in the brush and treetop slash. I'd like to upgrade to something with a little better fit, better lower leg coverage, and less likely to snag and trip. But I don't want to go to the expense of full pants, nor do I want the added warmth.

I'm looking at these in particular, although this chap also seems to be marketed by Elvex as well:

I haven't found any reviews on these anywhere. I like them because they meet all the reasons I'm looking to upgrade, plus the one thigh strap is a velcro cinch type instead of a buckle, which seems like it would be more comfortable. I wouldn't wear these every day, just to cut firewood, clear fencerows and downed trees, etc. on the farm.

Any opinions on these chaps in particular, or this style in general?

Thanks for your help!

I have a set of Clogger chaps with the zips on the calf section. Initially I had an issue with one of the zips not working properly & probably should have returned them, but I fixed them myself & they've been good.
I wouldn't be too keen on velcro, I could see it getting full of saw dust & not working that well
