Yea I researched stihl chain and it's made in about a half dozen countries including Brazil and China. I would hope a stihl chain bought in us would be made in us. I read there's a huge stihl plant that employs 2300 people I think in Virginia.
There is a plant in Virginia Beach. I don't think they make chain there. They build most of the homeowner stuff there from foreign and domestic parts. I think they make a lot of the plastic parts there.

Who cares where it is made- as long as it lives up to the parent companies quality control and is equal to any of their other offerings?
But the fact of the matter is, over here at least- Oregon chain made recently is not as good as the Oregon chain of old.

Oregon was bought and sold twice in the past year by 2 huge corporate financial "groups" ,I just hope the company actually survives the next yr or 2.
Husqvarna opened its own chain factory in Sweden probably because of this so,all the new Husqvarna chain you buy is gonna be made by beautiful tall blondes.🧝‍♀️

Well I bought a 36" bar for my remingtons and it was recommended to me by a highly respected member on here to use full skip micro chisle, so I looked up full skip micro chisle and says oregon made in brazil. So was just looking for some thoughts/opinions. I've used oregon all my life without issue but 95% of those loops were usa made. Just about every company nowadays will move operations just to save a few pennies per item manufactured😔. Alot of my oregon chain from box stores still says made in usa I think. But my 36" carlton bar says made in Australia but carlton is usa company. Thanks for all the feedback guys. Just a 60$ loop of chain I would prefer it to made in usa or germany/switzerland.

Somewhere I got the idea that the mini .325 chain like comes on the electric top handle Husqvarna is the same Husqvarna vs Oregon. I would be careful about that "all" word.

Even "made in" can get pretty vague as to where assembled in is more accurate for something like chain. Making a socket off shore and plating it in USA has been deemed cheating if called made in USA. For chain I would think the stamping of the cutter applying the plating and grinding before assembly, and also the manufacturing of the bearing/bushing with hardened properties yet the ends can be spun for rivets would be the 2 most crucial parts. I suspect those could come in containers and the rest done state side and still be made in USA. Or Brazil for that matter. Got to kind of be careful to take as fact a description at an on line store.
