Who cares where it is made- as long as it lives up to the parent companies quality control and is equal to any of their other offerings?
Funniest thing I heard recently was a distant relative who's just ordered a Tesla 3 telling me he won't buy anything made in China.

Yea I researched stihl chain and it's made in about a half dozen countries including Brazil and China. I would hope a stihl chain bought in us would be made in us. I read there's a huge stihl plant that employs 2300 people I think in Virginia.
In the 80's I used to go there to service their large format printer in the engineering department. Very cool to see all of the saws being assembled. Nice group of guys and it was one of my favorite stops.

The manufacture of saw chain is so automated that the quality of material (steel etc) is really what matters.
btw the Stihl chain made in Switzerland (and the German made saws) are for the most part not put together on the lines by Germans and Swiss- usually people from other countries in the EU. work the lines.

Just bought a oregon powercut .325 x .063 chain and it says made in canada eh. I toured the oregon chain plant in portland 20 years ago. Pretty darn cool. Wonder if that is long gone?
