I got an email just yesterday about osage orange trees. Some guys wants to come out and get the wood anytime we cut one down. Apparently he makes primitive bows out of the wood.
I was afraid a long piece might slap against the tree and bounce towards the house. When I look at the vid it does look like I could have taken bigger ones though. Sometimes it feels safer to cut small pieces, sometimes I figure bigger pieces means less cutting in the tree, it all depends on the situation.
What was that with the big saw and floating around the cable?
Just carving off a few chunks above the cable. And the saw isn't that big just a 361. The 24" bar on that saw is silly in hedge but it is nice to use aloft for bigger softer stuff.
