Got out FS80 weed eater today, checked rpms, it's 3000 to fast
and it don't look to be adjustable.
Could a fuel passage in the carb be blocked some making it
run lean?
It started in 3 pulls after setting a year and runs
good, book says 7500, it's running 10500.....Maybe it's always
run this speed, it's 6 years old never been back to the dealer.
Just got a tach late last year.

Sorry for OT......best place to go that I know of....for do it yourself
Thanks

Got it loaded with string in the head and sticking out like it should be. FS80's with a empty head will go up to 10 grand...

First, make sure you have the correct length string on it... BTW.. 10,500 seems o.k. to me...

The books I have say 9700 to 11,300....

If you are worried, reset your carb to std setting and try it then. Yes, you could have a partially blocked fuel filter or carb inlet screen,

I will check some more.........it just seems like that it four stroked
more than it dose now.........very light four stroking now.

Trigger, you missed my edit..

9700 to 11300

4 stroking...??? Be careful... it's under full power with the right length string so you often won't hear any such sounds... it's like tuning a blower... take it to peak from the rich side, then back off a couple of hundred rpm..

How do you adjust the High Side?

I see the L screw........is it the cam thing on the throttle cable?

You can just drop on a walbro WT264... about $30, but heck, it's just a crappy little weedeater. Next you'll be opening up the muffler :yoyo:
