You show a picture of wood skidded from the river bottom. Do you handle it any differently from the other wood? I've got access to quite a bit of wood from the Wabash River bottoms near me, but have shied away due to sand, dirt etc. Nice process you folks have put together.

My uncle hauls it on his little cat setup just like everything else. We haven't had a problem with dirt or anything on the river trees, maybe it's different where you are at.

What is the cycle time for the splitter with the 6 X 36 cylinder?

I couldn't tell you offhand, I would have to time it, when I get around to it........ It is the fastest splitter I've used and I've used quite a few. 300 face cord of firewood a year growing up and you'll have that.

I have a question about the cross-stacking method that your brother was cutting on.

When he gets down to where the piece is 40" long and cutting it in half is all that remains to be done, does the wood walk on him or want to fall? Perhaps it's heavy enough not to have that problem.

I'm jealous!...I had a dream about this the night after the first post of the pics...anything I'll ever do will pale by comparison. I need help1...is there a shrink here I can talk to? Need to overcome this feeling of depression. Can you guys help, or do I need to go on Oprah?

I am not sure I understand the question, but you have to put a foot on the piece to hold it at that length when you make the cut.

Sounds like anxiety to me, the cure: get to work! Channel that jealousy to your advantage.
