That would be sweet, but I would have to buy another boiler....:dizzy::dizzy:

Oh, yeah, me too, but it would be worth looking at if I ever got another. As it stands, I can't use anything but an EPA Phase 2 boiler now, here in VT, so the observation is moot.
 
I been running a CB5036 for the last 4 seasons. I try to keep my ash buildup to a minimum, emptying it every few days to a week. In my experience it makes a noticeable difference in wood consumption that I also attribute to better heat transfer. Separating the coals and even scooping out the ash can be a hassle if you don't use the right rake and shovel. I would love to come up with some better tools for the job. I tried a modified shovel with wire mesh but found that it burns out too easy. I'm thinking expanded metal would work better. Maybe a customized garden hoe to scrape out the corners and a scoop shovel with a longer handle and less angle to reach the back. What do you use? I'd hate to re-invent the wheel.
