I had the same with the 3 yd min. here so I just used the extra cement for higher pad and had an extra form set for approach at another location. Make sure you check to see if stove can be set to your pad ht if contracted.

my c.b. sets on a pad made to c.b. specs. they also say to put 2 piers at the back of the boiler for support, my pad sets on 12" footers 30" deep, don't plan on it settling and screwing up my water lines.

Around here if you dont buy the min 3 yards the batch plants whack you with $50/yd surcharge ontop of the $100 transport fee.

Saturdays are an automatic xtra $100 transport fee just because its saturday. Heck in the colder months they charge you a $10 surcharge/truck for hot water. Let alone the additional diesel fuel surcharge.

It's getting quite expensive for concrete these days.

I ended up not pouring the concrete slab (too much money, the block cost me like $25), instead I used two 8” block as my base for each leg and then topped that off with 4 – 4” block on each corner. I know I didn’t need to use a 16” square base but I did it to give myself some extra room in case my measurements were off a little.

Looks like a nice install, good job. Keep us posted as you get things hooked up and 'fired', keep that camera handy and take some pics.

Concrete slab

We just poured an 8x12 pad for our new furnace. Gives us four feet of concrete to stand on while loading and removing ashes.

Forms $30.00 Concrete $198.00 (two yards delivered)

After spending what we did for the furnace, $228.00 for a concrete pad was an easy decision. I will post pictures when I get a chance.
