just brought back the saw from RD Faulkners and figured i'd look it over for once before settling on the coil diagnosis. Couldn't help but notice that the integrity of the wire to the stop switch was iffy... like exposed in a spot.. and that was covered as it passed by the air filter... so may not have been noticed by the tech guy. I figure the wires haven't been swapped out in about 20 to 30 years.. would that give a failed coil diagnosis? Any sure fire ways to test the coil as a component itself? I'll check back with everybody Monday to see what ya think.
