I love the Partner 5000 and 500. The 5000 3 cube saw IMO is a great saw and way before its time, 23 years old and is right on the Dolmar 5100S tails with 5000 running 1100 less rpm's and both running 3/8.

Partner once was very good saws, here is previous tread, with some general info.

Btw, the P55 became the standard chainsaw of the Norwegian Army about 1980, and as far as I know they have a good service record.......

The P70 is mostly the same saw, but with more cc and power.

I would like to run a partner 7000 or 7000 plus someday. They look like the 5000 imo , just alittle bigger and 21 more cc's. I bet they do run good.

I like many of Partner's engine but not so much for the handles, switches and caps. I like the way they run but the handle casting seem weak and are often broken.

These are a couple of the ones I brought out for this week.

Dad's saw starts HARD. It takes a lot of effort to pull the starter rope, it's reliable and only takes a couple pulls, but you really feel the compression.

I've heard and seen nothing but good things. I'm working on loving mine too at the moment. My only pain in dealing with the old P series is in the ignition... and that was just getting a newer setup on a burned out points coil and locating a correct bracket..

So

So it wouldn't leak on your leg if it leaked :jawdrop:

Stihl is waiting to release this new technology for a few more years:taped:

Not under the sprocket but partially under the side cover

Stihl will call it STIHLTH technology TM
