pruner, welcome also. bradfords are a no no around here. they were all the rage a couple of decades ago. it was found out in short order the wood did not have the strength to hold up the massive canopy, heavy wood and co dominant stems it developes. this cultivar is a beauty for a short span theneveryone from cities to homeowners had to top them as they caved in and man were they ugly then. i recall when they became banned from city growing spaces literally seeing nurseries changing the tags from "bradford" to "cleveland" on standing stock. iwas at a seminar last week re invasive species that declared them just that. i know this doesn t adress your question but just venting some of my frustration w this plant. i ve seen people plant them in memory of a passed love one and only later to be hurt again when it falls apart.
