There's one function of my Petzl I'D that I'm having issues with. The little grabber that i circled in the pictures in red frequently prevents me from being able to pull in the slack. I tried taping over the teeth but it still grabs and the tape never stays on long. It doesn't look easy to remove (the other side of the bolt thing that holds it on is covered by the handle). Do you guys that use the I'D have a way to stop this from preventing pulling in slack?

i dont run the I'D but i couldnt help to notice your tin of cope. i feel for you Canadians.

in 06 when i was in NS i would bring american tins up and sell them to the dippers. 3 for 20$. them boys LOVED that deal. and i did alright as well. lol

yeah its shocking how bad they tax it here. when i started copenhagen tins were 25 grams (skoal was 20) and they cost under $5. now the little 15 gram tins we get are over $7!

3 for 20 man! americans tins too! not a bad deal, "eh"? lol ya, ciggies and dip get hammered for tax up your way. i think our tins have like 34 grams in them.

good luck with your I'D.

Hands down,

This gets my vote for best derail!
The efficiency has me busting up. But thats probably because I have had a couple bourbons (my drug of choice).

thanks for the replies (on and off topic, hahaha). the toothed part only grabs when pulling slack through, as outlined in my professinally done picture i'm attaching with this message. haha. decent is controlled from teh big round cam pinching at the top. the red arrows show the path the rope goes during decending and the blue is where the rope goes.

i was just curious if anybody had to do anything because when i'm pulling in slack or body thrusting the damn thing stops me from being able to easily pull in the slack. gotta jiggle the rope free and try to manipulate the rope so it won't catch the toothed do-hickey.

thanks,
-gavin
