A friend of mine found this old McCulloch 73 in a barn he was cleaning out and gave it to me, what a monster! It dwarfs my little Husky 50 sitting next to it. It's got good compression, have'nt checked it for spark yet, might see if I can get it running. The air cleaner and the bar / sprocket cover are missing. Matt

Sweet!! Your dog is in awe of 'the beast'.

I hope it has spark!!

I'd love to hear what a 120cc old Mac sounds like.

I have several 47's a couple 3-25's. Only 1 of them, a 47 runs. They're fun to mess with once and a while. the carb is like nothing you'll ever see on anything else. Hopefully, your diaphrams are still soft enough to work. There isn't anything covering the sprocket on these old ones, just a piece of steel to go over the bar studs that the nuts screw down on.

Nice Saw! I think that saw has a rotary valve instead of reeds. When you get it running let us know how it cuts.

Look closely at the right side and you'll see that a part is missing, am I correct in assuming that it's the air cleaner thats missing? Matt

I have a Mac 73 here with a spare parts saw due at the end of May it looks as if the aircleaner has gone on yours there the same as the other models although Mac did offer a better airfilter on the end of a rubber snorkel for the 73.

Mc Bob.

I weighed it this afternoon, 45 lbs ! ! ! Can you imagine what it would be like to have to use this thing all day? I may have been man enough to do it when I was 20 but I don't think I could do it now LOL Matt

Yes indeed that thing is heavy.I ran one in my youth.I like just about all McCullochs, except that one.

If it's just a piece of steel I could make one ......but what about the bar tensioner? Matt
