Took down two silver maples with TreeManDan (TM). The trees were constantly being hacked by the utility company and had a horrible shape. I did maybe half the climbing on the closer tree and TMD did the rest and blew out the other tree. We were trying to fit this in in one relatively short afternoon before a snowstorm so there just wasn't the time for me to do both trees.

After the snow melted, I went back and took down the spars, flushed the stumps, and removed another 5' old "spar" from the side yard.

Unfortunately I didn't take any work-in-progress pics.

LOL. Dude those trees were a ##### to split. They really humbled my TimberWolf TW-1. The entire trunk was like one huge knot. Great firewood though. If the were taller and straighter before the crotch I would have sold them to an antique dealer intact. You can get good money for silver maple...furniture guys eat that stuff up.
