Freaking sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nice pix,,,, Ive got a bunch too,,, just havent had time to post that many we have a few big old growth stumps ocasionally however most are only a few generations old this area where I live was logged extensively back @ the turn of the century and is now managed forest,,, I live right on the southern edge of Temple Inland & KIrby Timber land,,,, :chainsaw: :hmm3grin2orange: :chainsawguy:

I hear what your saying but hear in Pa most stumps have rocks in them. It just doesn't look safe to me I have seen countless rocks and other debris flying in every direction. I'm not saying I don't like that grinder it looks like an awesome machine. guess when I'm ready to get another grinder I'll have to demo 1. What Hp is that and how deep will it grind ?

it probably is not the safest place to be but being up against the house like that i would more than likely be doing the same thing

thats a real nice set up . those are some big stumps in the pictures. how long did it take to grind them

Sbusta, my 8018 is running on 50 tooth sandvik and you are right you won't find anything on Carlton's site ! The model is now known as the 8018 "pro" ? To be exact it has a 99hp Kubota cuts higher and deeper than standard 8018 and is 7" wider and 2800kgs. The cutter head is derived from the Hurricane RS as is the dozer blade. The stump in the pics took just over 4 hours including finding some steel which Im sure was part of the TITANIC !!! that's when the sandvik shows it's worth, only 4 damaged teeth and 2 tips lost, I hit something similar with my 60 TX with greenteeth and lost 12 teeth and 6pockets !

Great photos!!!! The countryside in New Zealand looks very nice.

These huge stumps are fun to look at, but I make better money on the 30 inch and below, nobody wants to pay the big bucks for an all day job!!

lawson's tree s

The big stump was the 4th job I did with the 8018TRX so I was still learning. It took about 9 hours on site much of that time was spent pushing grindings out of the way (I’m so happy to have the scraper blade). I believe I could do it in 5-6 hours today.

Bigstumps

The countryside in New Zealand is great well worth a visit. Big stumps still make good money with big grinders.

It looks like an impressive machine apart from price any reason you didn’t go to the Hurricane RS? I think Ill go for a 7015trx next then look at a bigger machine not sure how big to go. Sounds like you really like sandvic

Here are a few more Pics

sbusta, the price didn't have any bearing it came down to logistics, the 8018 pro is still towable behind my land crusier amazon with our 3500kg max tow regs and it will fit between standard fence panel posts and at a shade under 6ft will go under standard garage doors. I would be tempted by full size hurricane with standard 8018 ? As for the sandvik wheel you bet I like it ,no more snapped pockets and having to carry spare pockets and bolts and the quality of the carbide is fantastic. Im finding with my 2010 carlton running sandvik that around 3to4 times more wear from the teeth compared to my danequipe on 700 greenteeth. I can only thank Dave Kendal of LISTON equipment for putting up with me when I could'nt make my mind up which wheel to have when I ordered the 8018pro ! there was no question with the 2010 ! He was dead on with his advice.
