These pictures were taken last Friday. I took out 4 trees (land owner said they were maple), saved a little for firewood and burned up the rest. Got started around 8:30 a.m. and finished up around 5 p.m. Strong North West winds help burn the pile fast (anyone see the tire in the middle?)
Of the 4 saws the 346 with a 20 inch microlite bar was used the most, it’s just so darn fast and light! The 575 threw a chain and wrecked a bunch of drivers, since I did not have a spare chain it was not used much that day. The Homelite Super XL was used some, the 3120 came in handy for stump work.

Nice pics...thanks.

So how'd you get Tree # 3 down? Not uhhhhh....not much to make a hinge out of, huh? Yikes!

I let the coons live, after all it was good Friday.
The trees were almost straight up with no lean at all. I didn’t take any chances so I came prepared with 4 20’ log chains. I fastened one end of the chain about 20 feet up in each tree (the loader helped), attached the other 3 20 footers end to end and then to a clevis on the drawbar of the 756. After pulling the chain tight I then made my notch and back cut, returned to the tractor and just pulled them over. It worked slick and it was safe!

Nice job, good pics!!
Those old hollow trees can be a challenge, you did it right by helping them over with the tractor.

The racoons usually don't make it long here either, but I always feel sorry for the little ones. I'll let momma get them safely out of the area.
I had a family of them in a hollow log a while back, when I cut a block off the poor little racoon was looking at me from inside the log. He had a little drop of blood on his nose where the bar nicked him. I figured it was a good time to quit for the day. They were gone the next morning.
