I really like 199s, but in my experience they're unnecessary on a 346 unless you're opening up the jug. In fact, some throttle response will be lost.I've ordered an AM muffler and found a super deal on an OEM EL18B carburetor assembly for the 346OE with the choke, kill switch, and filter mount so I snagged it.
I'll order an EL42 carburetor and a 357/359 air filter mount after I get the saw up and running.
Thank you everyone for your input.
I've not notice any negative issues running Walbro 199's on nearly stock 346s'. Even on the 45cc.I really like 199s, but in my experience they're unnecessary on a 346 unless you're opening up the jug. In fact, some throttle response will be lost.
Nothing in the cut. Mine feel like they give back a little of the snappiness from a muffler mod.I've not notice any negative issues running Walbro 199's on nearly stock 346s'. Even on the 45cc.
Got to at least have the muffler opened up to run the larger carb. They feel a lil stronger to me with the larger carb and still snappy throttle.Nothing in the cut. Mine feel like they give back a little of the snappiness from a muffler mod.
359s and 357xpsWhere do ya find the 199’s?
I've bought them on ebay. The 190 & 191 also work. If you can't find a Walbro, the Zama EL42 is almost as good.Where do ya find the 199’s?

After waiting for parts and other constraints on my time I finished squeezing in the EL42 in to my 346NE project saw. I should have followed the advise I was given.I really like 199s, but in my experience they're unnecessary on a 346 unless you're opening up the jug. In fact, some throttle response will be lost.
