Have had this saw for many years want to restore it .Someone has left gas in it and was wondering what my options are as far as getting the tank cleaned aswell as the carb. The saw was made in ontario canada and I would also like to know it,s age any help would be appreciated thank you

Hi 351, looks like we are in the same boat. I was given 3 old pioneers last week. P20, 1074 and 1110. I plan on restoring the 1110. Maybe we can learn together.

age of saw

Someone gave me a Pioneer 1110 with serial# 504102 and looks exactly the same as you guys' saw, It runs like a dream only a little loud:)
Any idea how old these chainsaws are?

I usually use carb cleaner in the spray cans. Make sure you take out the rubber fuel line and filter as the cleaner will dissolve the rubber. Spray into the tank, let sit, swish around and repeat until clean. For the carb, take it apart, remove all diaphrams, needle and spray with carb cleaner. If it has sat for a long time and is gummed up I would remove the welch plugs and clean in behind them as well.

My old 1110 isn`t the best looking saw around but it works real good and has a lot of grunt , a bit loud and heavy on vibes.

That 1110 was my dad`s saw and was passed along to me like dozens of other saws I now have. About the only way to find parts for these old saws is to chase eBay daily or find a complete parts saw. There might be a member that has a spare one if you asked over in the,Trading post, a few fellas have junked some vintage saws and might have a spare, worth a chance to go ask.

That's cool that your dad's saws still run my dad had a home light super easy xl that he got from the dump it needs a lot of love but still is very cool has a lot of compression I would love to see it run again some day

Every chainsaw either myself or family on both sides of my parents are all here with me, they all run very well, none of them were run totally into the ground and most have only required a little maintenance , carb kits or rubber lines to keep them running well. None of my family members have tossed a saw away, or really worn one out, just one of my dads Remington Mighty Mites needs a rubber duck bill that seals the bar oil from the crankcase needs to replaced as it is a very smoky saw at the moment. The rest are in running condition but there is so many I cannot use them all in a year.
