Pioneer 1200-A, gift or carp?

Missing the pullcord, paint thrashed, smells like old paint too. Hmmmm, one of them weird b-day gifts ya may not want. everything else seems ta be in tact, and the snub-nosed bar seems good so far too but it has the weirdest chain I hasve ever seen, one side is round and the other chisel toothed, is this something they reaklly did? I have no idea but am of two minds here, one ias to restore this pita, thwe other is to givew it away to the first person willing to pay postage that could use it.
