Has anyone compared the cost per gallon of aviation fuel versus a good canned fuel like Aspen 2 ? I'd be curious which is cheaper, obviously after mixing decent and readily available 2 stroke oil into the aviation fuel.

Re: AV Gas in your small engines...
This is a +/- issue.
Pros: AV Gas won't 'go bad' in storage like ethanol fuel will. You have a higher octane which will work better with higher compression saw motors.

Cons: Currently, AV Gas IS leaded fuel. Not sure you want to run that in your motor that isn't designed for it. You can REALLY foul your spark plug if your carb is rich. And lead fouling might as well change the plug. There ARE some suppliers that do have 100UL (GAMI, SWIFT) but the FAA hasn't fully approved those fuels yet and they're not widely distributed.
Price - it depends on where you live but 100LL ranges from mid $4.50-ish all the way up to ~$10 per gallon. That's just looking in the midwest.

Go to the [Layers] tab at the top click on the [FBO] tab in that sub-menu and select the fuel you're looking for.

Your best bet is to find ethanol-free auto fuel nearby.

Plus if saw has a catalyst fitted, like a lot of saws these days, Avgas will destroy the cat quickly
