I emailed him b/c the saw is posted in a CL add in Grand Rapids MI. I offered a fair price and that I am close enough to pick up with no response from the CL add. Definately the same saw in the picture form CL add and the add here. Craigslist add he wanted 200 bucks for the saw.

Last week the saw wouldn't start and he contacted a friend of mine and agreed to sell it to him for $40. Then he said he found a loose wire and got it running but would not return texts.... To be fair he claimed he had bought three partner 5000 plus's and this was the last one to sell.

He could be fair to deal with, the jury is still out.

That is the thing. I WANT to trust everybody. In day to day living I can give the benefit of the doubt, but a big ticket (to me) item like a saw or a collectable or custom made knife demands caution. A lot of these new guys may be square dealers but the thought of getting hosed for 4-800$ brings a high pucker factor.
Paypal is buyer friendly and defrauding someone that pays with a postal service money order is a big no no but getting your money back is not easy. Russ

Looks like he abandoned this ad. If you are going to buy on here it's gambling for sure. However buying any used machinery and a lot of inexpensive new machinery anywhere has always been a gamble. I personally had one issue with a seller here and he made it right.
