I index all my plugs to compensate for my use of low octane fuel
and my use of regular sae 30w oil. It eliminates all of the
pinging and predetonation. I also feel better in general, so it
must be a good thing.

Sorry

It was funny when I first started trying to stir up some crap, but
somehow my reply morphed into a new thread.
Forgive my ineptitude.

hey fish, How you think your methods would work if I picked em up and added them to my normal regiment of slick 50, pro long, gumout and marvels mystery oil? Ill prolly have a 80hp saw then.:D

"Never seize"?
Some how that term was incorporated into my wedding vows.

After I said "I do", my new bride looked at me and said, "Not
anymore!"

I only use the new Quadra Fire Titanium/Magnesium plugs with gold socket and sequential tip firing. There always indexed.

I use the long plugs out of my truck, it puts the spark right down
in there where it needs to be. It doesn't hit the piston because
there is a hole already there from using regular fuel. The extra
space taken up by the longer plug increases the compression ratio too, but not enough to warrant switching to a higher
octane, luckily, as it is too expensive.
I only use used "synthetic" oil on my bars, it does something
magical with the dirt, but one must be careful, as the reduced
friction from using synthetic can easily overspeed your saw.
