I've got a truck that will only hold about 6.5 cubic yards of woodchip. Would a 3/8" plywood chipper bin suffice, using decent wood framing?

I only just got my first chipper last weekend, and I want to knock up a temporary bin to tie me over until I can weld up a permanent one. I'm removing some trees I could really use it for but having it collapse on the road wouldn't be a good look.

I'd not go less than 1/2" ply, which is what I used to have for a lid on my dump trailer.
A season of chips bouncing around off the inside of the lid would turn that 1/2" into 1/4" - 3/8" in some areas.

Thanks, I'm starting to think you are right. I was just hoping to save some money since I already have some 9mm ply lying around.

Has anyone used plywood for the sides of a bin, by the way?
