This question kind of got buried in another thread about aftermarket top ends for Husky's so I wanted to bring it to the front for comments:

Does anyone know of a resource for port timing specs on original equipment cylinders?

I bought an aftermarket (Tecomec) top end for a Husky 266 that is claimed to work for both the lower revving SE/SG as well as the higher revving XP models. EHP revealed that the higher speeds are due to different port timing between the two jugs and instructed how to degree the ports. I'd like to try this but I don't know what I'd do with the answer since I have no reference.

I doubt if it is published information or we would have seen it posted or referred to on AS. Seems I remember something posted about aftermarket jug that came with several different thickness base gasket to give some choices.

I have never worked on that type of jug but what would make sense in my little head is the jug you got should be of the lower rpm's , reason , the lower the rpm's the longer the jug should last right ? an for there warranty they most likely would go with the lower rpm's also
the 266 was just alittle before my time and i was using 2100's then anyhow so i cannot tell if there was a difference between the 2 different 266's but i think you should just bolt her on and go, you may have a faster jug than what the factory put out anyhow

i am not sure what you want for an answer , the xp model will have a larger number so this means a higher port timing
when you degree it
