potting soil for norway spruce pots

Hello, I would like to start growing spruce seedlings in 1 gallon plastic pots to sell on the side. I received the pots for free and would like to keep costs to a minimum to maximize return. Is there a homemade receipe for making your own soil? I live in Iowa and have plenty of rich black dirt to use as the main ingredient. Just need help with drainage since the soil is a silty/clay loam soil. Thanks

You need a soil-less media. Consisting of mainly bark...pine or fir.
