I was able to get my saw running for a few seconds by pouring gas straight into the cylinder. The muffler is off and the piston looks good.

I took the top of the carb off, and no gas was coming thru the line. I also took of the fuel line from the carb to where in enters the tank, and no gas seeped out at all. Looks like I will have to check out the thread about changing the fuel line.

I was placing an order for the carb kit, a spark plug and the tank gasket. What is holding me back is I think the shipping at $10.70 is excessive for these items?

Marty

marty try it now the weight should be under a lb which will be $ 6.95 if you choose the usps priority mail option keep in mind ups and fed ex are also on the shipping options

306A is a great saw! Rob, check the p&c for scoring by looking through the exhaust port if you haven't done so already. Check the fuel line. Very likely broken or in pieces if it has sat up for a while. Great threat on here by ModifiedMark on fuel line replacement for 306.

I don't pull the flywheel but help fish the line down from the top with a small wire. Make sure plug is in good shape. It's an easy find CJ8 set to .025". Good luck. Let us know your progress. Want to hear about it running soon.

Steve

Do you know what a 306 is? This thread by Mark has nothing to do with a 306 it is about a super 25 or one close to it.

how many manufacturers made them? I know there is Dayton, Allis Chalmers, Ridgid, and Craftsman. But there has got to be more?
