Poulan 3400 Bow Saw

I have a Poulan 3400 Countervibe BOW SAW that runs fine....I aquired it from my father who passed away in 1994....he had this saw for years and I remember using it back in the late 70' early 80's....he kept it in great shape...It hadn't been started since before '94.....I gassed and oiled it up and it started and runs great on 3rd pull....awesome!! What I was wondering I already have 2 Stil's and have no need for this saw....I was wondering what it is worth????....it is in good shape for being "used" and has all the original parts...no mods...If the price is decent I might consider parting with it...anyone have an idea!!!

You know....Sprintcar...I thought about that long and hard...but no kids = no grandsons....just the way it is I guess...I really don't want to part with it but it is gathering dust...and I may not....but...my dad would want it to go to a good home that's for sure and so do I.......I burn wood every winter and my better half works for the US Forest Service as a Sawyer...she is better than me cutting wood...maybe I 'll give it to her when I depart this world...eh?

:agree2: Its your Dads saw. I wouldn't sell any of my Dads saws, plus if I did he'd probably have a fit. Im even restoring my unlcle's Homelite XL12 for my cousin. Its up to you. You wont have trouble selling it if thats what you decide. it depends on condition, I'd say $50-$130, if its real nice.

Bound to be somebody in the family that would love to own and respect the man that originally owned the 3400. I wish somebody would have told me that 34 years ago when I left home. Didn't get any of my dads saws, by the time I got there, all of them were gone. Man was I :censored: pissed. Not nearly as bad as my older brothers were.

Not trying to tell ya what to do with your equipment, your choice, I ended up with two of my grandpas shotguns. Nothing to brag about, to some folks, just two old single shot 12 G guns. To me they are priceless. Daughter gets one, the son the other.

I bought a poulan with a bow from a member who was selling it on ebay for about 90 have seen them on ebay for about 200 with the bow. There is no real guide for what a saw can be bought or sold for i guess

Welcome to the site my fellow Michigander!!!!! If your serious about selling it let me know. I'm looking for a bow saw just to have one. If your looking to trade we might be able to work that out too. PM with what your looking for or what your wanting from it. I seen them go from $40-$200. It all depends on the condition and history of them.

Listen just because it's old don't make it worth a fortune. The other guys have given a good range of what they bring. There upper range is for a very very good one.

Mine I could get close to $300. for it. Has low hours on it.

There again, just speaking for myself, some of us is like sixth cousins twice removed, the ones ya always avoid at the family reunion.

I think that is a little high for site on seen; what one man considers a good running saw just might not be what another man considers a good running saw.

I have seen decent 3400's with bows sell for around $100.00 to $250.00 depending on how bad someone wanted it. One thing about bows is how easy they are to bend. So, sight unseen price goes down alot.
