I have been rebuilding a 5200 and it has taken a while! It needed several parts. I put a carb kit in it, tried to clean the reed valves. The bar and chain was not the correct one and did not even fit the saw. I fought the fuel line size, the chain tensioner, the gas tank vent. I broke two starter springs. I tried to paint it and OH WELL!!!

It is done for now!

Special thanks to Artie_bc for the spare saw.

I used the full wrap handle and the spring and the tank vent from the spare saw. The clutch is better than mine but I don't have the nerve to change it yet.

Anyway , Pics to follow,

I have it running WICKED!!!. I am concerned that I may have it a little lean.

1 turn out makes it run like I think that it should. 1 and a half turns makes it a dog.

Comment welcome.

Looks Great

Hey, glad you got your saw going, and my parts helped a bit. Looks like a new saw from here! From what I've heard of those 5200's they're supposed to really cut.

Good looking saw. I rebuilt my first one this past winter. There is nothing like the feeling when a project saw comes back to life. Great job!

Now that is a fine looking saw, and one you don't see everyday. You should be proud! Love the full-wrap handle, you just need that outside spike to set the saw off. I hope you use it to cut wood! No use setting her on a shelf!
